The JLD is running a free one-day event for LPC students, designed to help them in their search for a training contract and to gain awareness of the issues they may face along the way. It is being held at Northumbria University on Saturday 15 October.
The programme will include sessions on assessment centres, pro bono opportunities, how to stand out at interview and working in legal aid. Current trainees will also talk about their experiences of the training contract process. There will be individual 30-minute CV clinics for one-to-one advice from JLD members.
The full programme is here. To register, click here.
In other JLD news, the body is holding elections for its executive committee and calling for nominations. For more detail and to download a nomination form, click here. You must submit the form by Wednesday 19 October. Results of the election will be announced on 7 November.
