Manchester law firm Croftons has created an iPhone app designed to help claimants gather accurate evidence and information at the scene of an accident at work or on the road which could result in a personal injury (PI) claim. The app will enable users to save immediate details after an accident, pinpoint the exact location of the scene using Geolocation technology, take photographs of damage or injuries and collect voice-recorded statements from eyewitnesses. The information is then sent to a lawyer who will be able to quickly assess the claim and provide the user with legal advice.
Croftons managing partner Simon Leighton believes the app will revolutionise the PI claims process. He told the Law Gazette: "The accident app uses modern-day technology to deal with old issues around claims evidence. It is the perfect channel for data capture because accidents tend to happen when you are on the move, and these days people tend not to move without their mobile phone. Traditional law firms like ourselves have got to redefine our offer and start communicating and interacting using 21st century tools. The accident app has been widely welcomed already by many of our clients, and I am convinced it's the way forward."
The app is available free from the Apple iTunes store. To download it, visit the Croftons website.
