"Recession over," says Law Gazette survey

updated on 01 April 2011

A recent survey of partners and senior decision-makers at legal practices nationwide has concluded that the recession has run its course for the majority of firms. The survey of 56 firms - which was conducted by client relationship management consultancy Collier Pickard in association with the Law Gazette - revealed that the revenues at six out of 10 firms were expected to rise in the next 12 months. The main areas of practice where revenue looks set to increase are commercial, commercial property and employment; while insurance, personal injury and civil litigation are likely to remain broadly the same.

Collier Pickard marketing director Alan Joenn told the Law Gazette: "The survey reflects some optimism in the profession. Law firms have a better outlook over the next 12 months than over the last 12."
