LCN Says

This season's new look

updated on 18 September 2012

Welcome back, one and all. We hope that it has not escaped your attention that LawCareers.Net is looking especially snazzy in A/W 2012. As we alluded to in our final LC.N Weekly before the holidays, during the summer break we took ourselves off for a little restorative nip and tuck and have emerged from our cocoon, butterfly-like, as an improved version of our former self - ie, all the same excellent stuff, with added sparkle.

First, there are the aesthetically pleasing style changes. As we find ourselves in the middle of London Fashion Week, this couldn't be more timely. The soothing new colour scheme, the sensible rearrangement of text, an increased number of dynamic elements; all are designed to please the eye and improve the experience.

But it's not just surface appearance - the changes go much deeper than that. There's enhanced functionality, including more intuitive search functions, more easily navigable sections, and the opportunity to share elements of the site more readily, on a variety of platforms (Facebook, Twitter, even funny old Google+).

We've also updated our static editorial, checking facts and streamlining the information to make for a more useful collection of data. There are a couple of new sections, such as apprentices and pro bono initiatives, which we will be adding to as time goes on.

All the old favourites remain - such as Burning Question, News, Features, Meet the Recruiter, the Oracle - and are updated every week. There is also a new crop of keen-as-mustard bloggers, who have much to share.

Finally, we must remind you about MyLC.N - your essential suite of interactive tools. This has been refined to better help you with your career search. You can save firms/chambers you like the look of, use a personalised calendar so you never forget an important deadline again, and enlist MySelf to analyse your skills and experiences. MyLC.N is designed with you in mind, so make sure you sign up and use it.

We hope that you like our improved offering. If you do, tell us. If you don't, tell us. Either way, you can make your opinion known by emailing [email protected], by posting on our Facebook page, or by logging in to MyLC.N and commenting directly online within the sections themselves.
