The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is elected by the general public, with a mandate to deliver an effective and efficient police service across the Thames Valley area. He does this by holding the Chief Constable to account on behalf of local people.

In this role you will support the Governance Manager in managing a caseload of complaints and other matters to ensure the PCC is able to effectively discharge his statutory functions in an appropriate and timely way. 

This varied and demanding role will involve handling police complaints, freedom of information requests, subject access requests, and police appeals tribunals, amongst other casework.   

Educated to degree level or equivalent with experience of operating in a similar role and at a similar level of responsibility, your organisational skills will be of a very high standard and you will be highly motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential to this role.  You will be able to demonstrate acute attention to detail and experience of interpreting and communicating technical and procedural information to a non-technical audience. 

This role would suit candidates who have previous experience of managing a caseload in a legal environment and/or providing customer service directly to members of the public.
