Our legal organisation focuses on connecting our customers’ businesses to the ever-changing legal and regulatory environment.  We provide critical online and print information, decision support tools, software and services to lawyers who practice in law firms, in corporate legal departments and in the public sector. We are a growing business in the UK, especially since the acquisition of Practical Law Company in 2013. We are very excited about the next stage in our growth and how you can play a part in it.  

Paralegal, Practical Law Corporate, 12 month fixed term contract

Role purpose:

To provide efficient and responsive administrative and editorial assistance to practice areas within editorial, Legal Solutions UKI.

Major responsibilities/accountabilities:  

  • Carrying out daily trawls of relevant websites and other sources and identifying items and developments of interest to subscribers.
  • Creating and sending daily, weekly, monthly update e-mails and alerts.
  • Reviewing and proofing materials for the website.
  • Writing updates and other new content for the website.
  • Maintaining a number of materials on the website, including the legislation tracker.
  • Providing support answering subscriber questions through Ask.
  • Managing internal processes for the editorial team.
  • Publishing materials onto the web.  
  • Coding content for the web.
  • General administration duties.

Mandatory skills and experience: 

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of legal research databases.

Desirable skills and experience: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in using technology to create and disseminate online content.
  • Experience in assimilating and applying new complex information.

Education/certifications required

  • Law degree 2.1 or above or degree 2.1 or above and General Diploma in Law
