UoL announces two-year international practice degree

updated on 05 April 2013

The University of Law (UoL) will launch a two-year specialist undergraduate law degree in international legal practice in 2014, the first of this kind of accelerated LLB in the United Kingdom.

The planned course is a response to increased employer demand for lawyers with international specialisms, as well as the fact that the legal elements of international business are often based on English law. The new degree will educate students in the increasingly international requirements of clients and familiarise them with the nature of cross-border transactions.

Professor Nigel Savage, the UoL's chief executive, said: "By becoming the first university in the [United Kingdom] to offer an accelerated degree in international legal practice, we are continuing our focus on providing the best possible grounding for a career in the global legal market while giving students the chance to graduate in two years and have a head start."
