Social Mobility Foundation opens applications for 2014 law programme

updated on 04 December 2013

The Social Mobility Foundation (SMF) has opened applications for its 2014 programmes, including law, which provide young people from less privileged backgrounds with free mentoring, skills development, internships and support with university applications.

SMF continues to offer support throughout university and help with securing a graduate job. Law is one of SMF's strongest sectors, with its efforts supported by a range of firms and organisations including the Bar Council, Clifford Chance, Linklaters and Taylor Wessing.

Young people interested in legal careers are able to undertake a week's placement at either a barristers chambers or law firm. SMF also targets young people who live outside London, and pays for successful applicants to travel to and stay in the capital for a residential placement with Linklaters.

The closing date for applications is 27 January 2014. To find out more, visit www.socialmobility.org.uk.
