The 2015 Bar National Mock Trial Competition saw over 2,000 students from state schools compete in a series of mock trials.
As reported by Legal Cheek, the competition was won by Wirral Grammar School for Girls in the final round against Steiner Academy Hereford. The event took place at Edinburgh’s Court of Session at the end of March; Sir Brian Leveson presided over the competition, which saw the eventual winners successfully defend a case about theft.
Robert Rinder, barrister at 2 Hare Court and star of TV’s Judge Rinder, awarded the prize to the winners. Awards were also given for the best court reporter and court artist.
