- The BBC has sold the rights to over 1,000 pieces of music, including theme tunes and background music, from some of its best known shoes – including Luther, Wolf Hall and Doctor Who – to music mogul BMG.
- Pharma giant Pfizer is to buy cancer drug specialist Medivation in a mega-deal worth $14 billion.
- People love to tap: contactless card payments were made for over £9 billion on 1.1 billion transactions in the first six months of 2016.
- Sports Direct has received further criticism for its corporate governance practices, this time from an influential group of investors, with £14.5 trillion in combined assets.
- Jimmy Choo sales have benefited from male shoe-lovers splashing the cash; overall profits are up 9% compared to 2015, with men’s shoes the fastest-growing sector within the brand.
