Keebles LLP offers work placements to students, to enable them to experience life in a commercial practice and to work in a fast-paced legal environment.
For placements in 2021, our Doncaster office will accept two students and our Sheffield office will accept eight students across four weeks for a 'hands-on' week, working as part of our legal teams. Keebles LLP accepts students who can demonstrate the academic excellence, energy and determination needed to succeed in the Law.
We encourage applicants who intend to apply for a 2023 training contract with us to apply for the vacation placement scheme as this can fast track you to the assessment stage for a training contract. Dates of the scheme are to be confirmed but will run during July and early August 2021. Please indicate any date restrictions you have when applying. Keebles LLP also hopes to be hosting a number of insight days providing you with an introduction to our firm and how we work ahead of your training contract and vacation scheme applications. You will be given the chance to spend time with current trainee solicitors to discuss their experiences during the recruitment process and learn about their day-to-day roles and responsibilities across a range of departments. Keebles’ recruitment panel will also be offering short mock interviews on the day to offer vital tips and feedback ahead of the application process. Keebles LLP usually recruits up to five trainee solicitors each year. Training contracts are for a period of two years and consist of four six-month seats across different areas of the business. The trainee’s preferences are met wherever possible.
Keebles has offices in Sheffield, Leeds and Doncaster. For any one intake year, we normally have three trainees based in our Sheffield office, one in our Leeds office and one in our Doncaster office. Trainees can be required to undertake one or more of their training seats in one or more of our office locations.
Competition for training contracts is fierce and we seek individuals who stand out. Keebles trainees are bright, motivated, enthusiastic and relish working as part of a team. We look for candidates who will develop with the firm after they qualify. Keebles accepts applications from law and non-law graduates and second and final-year undergraduates, who should usually have at least (or are predicted to achieve) a 2.1 first degree.
The award of a training contract is conditional upon the successful completion of the GDL/CPE (where relevant) and the LPC. All applicants will be carefully considered regardless of race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origins, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, religion or age.
The training contract is designed to equip you with the necessary skillset and commercial acumen to have an active input in ongoing files from day one. We offer real life legal experience including attendance at trials, tribunals and client meetings. The work is challenging and fast paced but all trainees are supervised by a partner and have access to any of the firm's resources you may require.
Keebles is passionate about business development and encourages all trainees to get involved in business development and networking events and opportunities from the start of your career. We regularly host seminars and workshops which are well attended by clients which provides trainees with the vital client contact which is often minimal in other firms. Trainees also take responsibility for our charity partnerships which allows you to use your own creativity and initiative to organise and manage a range of fundraising events.
