Trainee solicitor

We are a small, friendly and well-regarded team based at the council offices in Staines-upon-Thames. We are ten lawyers and an administrative officer and between us we look after the full range of council legal work; property, contracts, procurement, litigation, housing, enforcement, planning and licensing. We also work with highly regarded private practice partners when we undertake major commercial property transactions for investment and regeneration. Our priority is to provide a dedicated in-house resource for Spelthorne which can provide the best legal support possible for the council’s ambitious agenda of property investment, commercial initiatives, quality public services and partnerships. This role for a trainee is part of the council’s ongoing investment in its legal services team. 

We have a tremendous range of projects and initiatives which will allow you to develop the skills you need for your future career in the law. We are focussed on modern working practices and providing an efficient high quality service to our clients. You will be given the opportunity to have your own cases and to progress as quickly as you are able. 

We will ensure you get a good grounding in all the council’s legal work and an opportunity to develop your potential as a confident and qualified lawyer.
