Family solicitor/legal executive
A new position has become available for a family solicitor/legal executive to join our firm to cover maternity leave. Our North London based practice provides a widespread range of legal services. We are renowned for our professional approach and have a proven track record for delivering a high quality services.
We are looking for a solicitor/legal executive that has a minimum of two years PQE. Ideally a candidate that has a wealth of experience handling the following within his or hers caseload:
- Public law proceedings
- Private law proceedings
- Divorce
- Financial proceedings
- Private client, specifically wills, probate, lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection applications
Due to the varied nature of the caseload, we are particularly interested to see application from solicitors with a minimum of two years PQE, however we welcome applications from all lawyers who feel that they have the necessary experience to manage these matters independently. Please ensure you are available to start on 2 January 2018 with an expected minimum duration of six months and a maximum duration of 12 months.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience. The firm is in a easily accessible location, the closest underground station being Chalk Farm or Camden on the Northern Line.

Legal assistant/administrator
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Considering applications / court orders to undertake a cost review and apply for the same on CCMS
- Diary management
- Liaising with the Court
- Scanning and faxing duties
- Drafting letters
- Making calls regarding cases
- Maintaining hard copies of up to date manuals, plans and reviews
- Scheduling meetings for fee earners and support staff
- Filing in accordance with company policy
- Updating court bundles for the Court and/or fee earners
- Assisting fee earners with billing of files and liaising with costs draftsman
- Communication with clients including potential clients to assist fee earners as and when requested
- Managing work experience students/placements students including allocation of work load
- General office housekeeping and office management including but not limited to liaising with suppliers and IT support
- Networking with our community links and organising community advice sessions
- Time recording
- Collating paperwork for the book keeper/accountant
- General administrative work
- Cover reception when required
- Assisting fee earners with day to day tasks as and when required
- Proactive in your own training and development
- Liaising with chambers and experts
Essential job skills:
- A legal background/understanding is essential.
- Previous CCMS is preferable.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Microsoft office skills.
- Client care and focus.
- Highly organised.
- Ability to perform and adapt under pressure.
- Ability to collate and analyse data.
Please note that this is a permanent full time role (9:00am to 5:30pm) subject to a three-month probation period with a competitive salary.

Legal receptionist/administration clerk
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Answering and routing incoming calls on a multi-line telephone system
- Greeting clients and potential clients;
- Scanning/copying and faxing;
- Filing;
- Managing incoming and outgoing post;
- Monitoring/Ordering of stationary and office supplies;
- Maintaining and scheduling conference rooms
- Drafting routine correspondence
- Data entry;
- Serving coffee or tea to clients;
- Maintaining a safe, clean and presentable reception area by complying with office procedures, rules, and regulations;
- Willingness to undertake key tasks on the internet - backing up the website, amending the website (with training), sending newsletters, updating social media;
- Willingness to undertake marketing/create promotional material to raise awareness of the firms services;
- Assisting with induction and supervision of work experience students.
Essential job skills:
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service
- Ability to operate multi-line telephone systems and office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners and copiers

- Familiarity with legal terms and jargon would be desirable
