Paralegal - real estate finance

This is an exciting opportunity for a paralegal to join our Cambridge office, working within our Corporate & Commercial National Service Line (“NSL”). You will work within the banking team which deals with a complex and highly demanding quantity of high quality work and is the largest specialist team in the eastern region.

Working primarily with our Head of Real Estate Finance, Laura Holdaway, Partner, and Sarah Greenwood, Senior Associate, you will assist with a broad range of commercial property and banking tasks. Work will be supervised, and your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting security documents and registrations at Companies House and the Land Registry

  • Providing assistance to the team in supporting the corporate and real estate departments on funding property or corporate transactions

  • Proof reading, checking and collating documents

  • Drafting letters, memos and attendance notes on instruction of client or principal

  • Preparing documents using agreed standards and the firm’s precedent index

  • Undertaking legal or other research on behalf of your principal

  • Co-ordination searches through Search Flow and reviewing search results as part of due diligence tasks

  • Registration of interests at the Land Registry and preparing/reviewing Land Registry forms

  • Complying with client specific standing instructions including post transaction client reporting and wrap up reports

  • Reviewing Conditions Precedent (“CP”) documents such as corporate authorities, managing the “CP” list and finance transactions

What experience is required?

Ideally, you will have experience of working in a banking or real estate team, with knowledge of finance document preparation and registrations.
