Job purpose: Undertake a variety of data gathering, chasing and information recording activities, on behalf of a fee earner, to facilitate the rapid settlement of cases and the closure of files.
- Graduate in law or law related subject with previous RTA paralegal experience would be an advantage however training will be provided for the right candidate.
- The daily legal assistant duties will involve but may not be limited to;
- Follow up on outstanding instructions, documents and other actions to ensure that responses are received within required timescales.
- Make payment requests using the appropriate payment request process for the client and chase to ensure payments are received and dispatched within required deadlines
- Complete initial steps in recovery of our client’s claim
- To ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2011.
- Undertake additional ad hoc duties to support fee earners and the team as required, which may include:
- Arranging medical appointments for claimants
- File closure/transfer activities
- Contacting medical agencies to ensure medical reports are received within required timescales.
- Undertaking telephone negotiations with credit hire organisations
- Pursuing settlement as quickly as possible
- Liaising with insurers and other interested parties where necessary
Experience, skills and qualifications
- Law graduate or experience of working in a legal environment desirable

Working hours:
This is a full time position with core working hours of 35 per week.
