Training contracts 2016-2018 – Ref: TC/2016

Leigh Day is accepting applications for training contracts commencing September 2016.

Leigh Day is a specialist 'claimant only' law firm operating across personal injury, international, human rights, product liability, clinical negligence, employment and discrimination.

The Leigh Day ethos remains the same as when the firm was set up in 1987, to make justice available to all, not just the rich and powerful. We work only for individuals, not the government or big business.

We are experts, leaders in our fields and we are not afraid to take on difficult and challenging cases. That’s why people come to us, because they want answers; they want justice; they often need help to rebuild their lives. To learn more visit about us.

We have some of the country's leading legal teams. Over the years, we have won 'The Lawyer' - Litigation Team of the Year award, The Employment Team of the Year Award, the 'Liberty/JUSTICE' Human Rights lawyer of the year award, a host of other accolades and awards and ranked annually in the top tiers of both Chambers and Legal 500 client guides.

Based in our London (Clerkenwell) and Manchester offices we are over 320 strong (including 32 partners). Being a mid-sized organisation, we are able to provide key learning opportunities to our people and encourage them to take on responsibilities from an early stage. To learn more visit our people.

Trainee solicitors at Leigh Day do not have case loads of their own but work closely with one or more of the senior lawyers in the firm and assist with all aspects of that lawyer's work. These are busy and demanding roles and a high standard of performance is expected with the ability to deal sensitively with clients and experts. Successful applicants must demonstrate:

  • Genuine passion for working with a leading claimant law firm and about providing access to justice to all;
  • Excellent written & verbal skills;
  • Ability to manage tasks in an assertive, efficient and timely manner;
  • Intermediate proficiency in IT (MS - Office).
