- Ready to pop the corks on this deal: Majestic Wines has bought online rival Naked Wines, in a £70 million takeover that will see Naked’s founder, Rowan Gormley, taking over as chief executive of the entire company.
- Analysis reveals that those investors which have divested themselves of shares in fossil fuel funds/companies have enjoyed greater returns than those who continue to hold shares in traditional fossil fuel companies (although FT columnist questions whether the divestment campaign is worth bothering with at all).
- Poundland keen to snap up a bargain by buying its 99p Stores rival, but the UK competition regulator has concerns over overlapping stores in 80 locations.
