Justice First Fellowship offers 11 training contracts

The Legal Education Foundation (TLEF) is offering 11 training contracts as part of its 2016 Justice First Fellowship (JFF) scheme, in conjunction with a number of firms.
As reported in the Solicitors Journal, several firms have collaborated to co-fund two of the 11 training contracts. Eversheds, Gowling WLG, Hogan Lovells and Shakespeare Martineau are co-funding a training contract at Birmingham Community Law Centre, while Hogan Lovells is co-funding one at the Anti-Trafficking and Labour Exploitation Unit. There are also training contracts available via the scheme at the Children's Law Centre, Clan Childlaw, Islington Law Centre, Just for Kids Law, Norfolk Community Law Service, RCJ Advice, South West London Law Centres and TA Law.
Matthew Smerdon, TLEF chief executive, said: “The aim of the JFF scheme is to create future leaders in social welfare law, who are true champions of social justice. The calibre of our existing fellows is exceptional. They are already making an impact and we expect the 2016 intake to be equally brilliant.”
Interested applicants, who must have passed the LPC and proved their commitment to social justice, must submit their applications by midnight on Tuesday 20 September.
