Gowling WLG expands legal apprenticeship programme

updated on 14 June 2016

International firm Gowling WLG is expanding its apprenticeship programme with two new hires.

The firm, formerly known as Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co, is recruiting two apprentices into its pensions team, based in Birmingham. The new recruits will start in September 2016, joining the firm’s previous intake of four apprentices in 2015. Training for the Gowling WLG apprenticeship programme is being delivered by CILEx Law School, with apprentices working toward the Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services.

Chris Oglethorpe, the firm’s director, said: “We are very happy with the apprentices currently on [the] programme, who are all performing well and are great additions to our team. CILEx Law School has proved to be an excellent apprenticeship delivery partner and we are keen to extend the original scheme on the back of this positive experience.”

Jenny Pelling, director of business and apprenticeships at CILEx Law School, said: “It is fantastic to see that Gowling WLG is seeing real benefits from their current cohort and looking to take on new apprentices as a result.”
