DWF introduces video interviewing to vac scheme applications

updated on 25 April 2014

National law firm DWF has adopted video interviewing as a way to expand the number of applications that it considers.

As Legal Cheek reports, the firm has used video to double the number of candidates that it is considering for its 60 2014 vac scheme places, with 400 being assessed this year, up from 200 in 2013.

Following an initial application form filtering round, candidates answer automated online questions on video. Those who impress are then invited to be interviewed in person.

Kate Hasluck, DWF’s head of graduate recruitment, said: "The aim of introducing a new layer into the graduate recruitment process is to increase our exposure to more candidates. The result is that we are able to assess around twice the number of applicants as before."
