Burning Question - Commercial awareness

Commercial awareness - what's it all about?

Law firms want their lawyers and their trainees to have commercial awareness. This means that you need to know what's going on in the business world. When you become a lawyer, you'll need to know how your client works and thinks in the marketplace.

It's likely that a firm will quiz you in an interview to see how commercially aware you are. So we thought we'd help to get you started. Each week we pose a burning question and ask a real lawyer or trainee to write a short answer.
