Training contract

We have a dedicated graduate recruitment page on our website which provides comprehensive information and allows you to submit your appliction with a cover letter and CV.

If you are successful at first stage review, we will contact you to arrange an interview with partners of the firm and a member of the HR team. The structure of this interview will be based on the contents of your application form and will assess your skills and knowledge, relevant to the position of a trainee solicitor.

What happens next?

After your interview the panel will consider your responses. We will contact you to let you know whether you have been successful in reaching the second interview stage.

The second interview will be held with two of our partners. During this interview, you should expect to be asked a wide variety of general and business related questions. The partners will be predominately testing your commercial awareness, your suitability for a legal career and your fit with Edwin Coe. You will also be required to deliver a presentation on a specific topic.

If you wish to apply, please start the application process at: https://www.edwincoe.com/graduate/overview/.

Please ensure you have read, and fully meet our entry requirements, prior to sending us your application.

Summer vacation scheme

The best way to learn more about Edwin Coe and what we do is to come and see what we do. Our vacation scheme gives you an insider’s view of a career in law and what it is really like to work here.

This scheme is aimed at providing you with an insight into both the day to day work of a solicitor and what it is like to work at Edwin Coe. You will gain an insight from a variety of departments over the course of the week. You will spend time in different departments being supervised by a qualified associate and getting involved in real work. There will also be the opportunity to attend client or department meetings where appropriate. We expect you to work normal office hours of 9:30am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday. We will reimburse travel expenses up a maximum of £100. If you are travelling overseas then check with us before planning your trip.

Our summer vacation scheme is aimed specifically at penultimate-year law students and final-year non-law students and graduates. However, we do accept law students if you are further on in your studies.

We offer eight students the chance to come and gain some work experience with us each year during the summer months. In order to select the most suitable candidates, we ask you to submit your CV and a covering letter to us, from which we will pick applicants we wish to interview. This interview will be held with a member of our HR team and one of our training partners.

If you would like to proceed to the application stage and have read and understood all of the steps leading up to this point, please start the application process here. Please ensure you have read, and fully meet our entry requirements, prior to sending us your application.
