Web designer

The person
An opportunity has arisen for a creative web designer to join our growing team in the web application development team.
 
The web designer will help to define, design and implement top-notch, responsive and user-centric websites, web applications, email templates and more.
 
The successful candidate will work in a vibrant, friendly environment on an exciting range of projects, working closely with web developers and reporting to the digital design manager.
 
Ideally you will have at least two years’ experience as a web designer within a corporate or agency environment. You should be self-motivated, passionate about design and the web and a team player with a meticulous eye for detail. You should have experience of designing and implementing pixel-perfect websites and email html templates.
 
Key requirements:
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals and typography
  • Creativity and enthusiasm
  • Attention to detail
  • A strong digital portfolio
  • Experience of designing and implementing websites and emails
  • Good communication skills and a team player
  • Extensive experience in responsive design, cross browser and cross device production
  • Two to three years’ experience as a web/digital designer
Responsibilities
  • Creating email HTML templates, including bespoke email campaigns and newsletters
  • Providing ongoing support of the company websites
  • Acting as the brands guardian to ensure quality of design and UX across all our brands
  • Implementing  designs for new websites and redesigns for existing websites
  • Designing web adverts, email templates and websites
  • Keeping up to date with the latest trends, styles and techniques
  • Working closely with web developers and reporting to the digital design manager
Skills:
  • Standards-based HTML5, CSS3 coding
  • Strong  experience of working with Fireworks/Photoshop
  • Knowledge and understanding of UX design
  • Working knowledge of Dreamweaver/Visual Studio
  • JavaScript and jQuery (optional)
  • Experience of version control (Training provided for GIT, optional)
