Trainee solicitor

The training contract is divided up into six four-month seats, which gives you the opportunity to experience more practice groups than traditional training contracts. You’ll get a real taste of the variety of work we offer and can make an informed decision about your future career path. During each seat you will have formal and informal reviews to discuss your progress and regular meetings to explore subsequent seat preferences. Your training contract commences with a highly interactive and practical induction programme which focuses on key skills including practical problem solving, presenting and the application of information technology. 
 
You’ll be provided with all the support you need to succeed, including training, practical day-to-day experience, and in-house lectures and workshops. You will be assigned a mentor who has been in your shoes and can share their experiences too.

Effective communication skills together with the ability to be creative and practical problem solvers, team players and to have a sense of humour, are some of the qualities which will help them stand out from the crowd.
 
Desirable (non-essential) key skills
  • The ideal candidate should be fluent in a number of languages at business level.
  • Past legal experience as caseworker/advisor.
  • An ability to market the firm and understand the ethos & culture of the firm.
  • Business acumen.
Qualification and experience requirements 
  • Minimum 2.2 degree or equivalent
  • At least one year experience in legal environment
