Paralegal (personal injury/clinical negligence)
We are seeking a confident, proactive, flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and professional full time paralegal to provide support to our personal injury and clinical negligence team based in Putney.
Main duties:
- Assisting solicitors with their cases
- Managing numerous case files and preparing documentation for court and counsel
- Keeping all trial bundles up to date
- Drafting letters to clients, instructions to expert witnesses, instructions to counsel and letters to the court
- Coordinating expert meetings
- Attending court to represent the firm and to note proceedings
- Complying with disclosure requirements and court orders within a strict timeframe
- Attending sites to take photos and make notes
- Attending conferences with counsel and clients
Personal characteristics:
- Strong organisational and time management skills are required as the role will involve the efficient and cost effective management of multiple files, working to strict deadlines;
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are essential to demonstrate understanding of our clients’ needs and expectations and when communicating with colleagues;
- Focussed attention to detail, speed and accuracy are important for all written documentation;
- The candidate should be a team player and contribute to the success of the team.
Desirable skills:
- Previous paralegal experience / ILEX or LPC qualification would be an advantage
- Some previous experience in this area would be an advantage
