Law Jobs

Legal assistant

We require a full-time legal assistant to cover receptionist/office junior work interested in housing and community care work under legal aid.

This is an entry level role that would suit an applicant who has completed their law degree (2.1), their LPC and is committed to qualifying in the future as a solicitor.

The most important part of the job involves administrative support including welcoming clients and visitors making them feel welcome and reassured at a stressful time in their lives.  You will be warm, kind and confident in meeting new people from all walks of life. You will also need to be organised and adaptable.

You will also be willing and able to help out with some support duties to our solicitor staff, such as typing, shredding, post, banking and photocopying.

Owning a car with a full clean driving licence will be an advantage to cover the firm’s different offices.

Applicants must genuinely interested in housing and community care law and remaining debt work still covered by Legal Aid involving the home being at risk. They must wish to progress into a legal advice role which will then considered as part of their professional development plan.

Applicants who wish to qualify as barristers will not be considered. Please note also that we cannot offer training contracts at this time.

Interested? Please send a covering letter and your CV to us by email to [email protected].
