An exciting opportunity has arisen for a paralegal to join a small in-house legal team in the marketing services industry in London.
LEWIS PR is a fast moving global communications agency with a global footprint of 28 offices, 500 employees and growing rapidly. The paralegal will be given responsibility and exposure to a range of commercial legal activity, under the guidance of the company’s head of legal and business affairs.
This position requires the candidate to:
- Assist in the drafting and negotiation of client service agreements across the UK, EMEA, US and APAC.
- Assist in the drafting and negotiation of a variety of commercial contracts with suppliers, partners and other third parties.
- Assist in researching and advising on global marketing laws.
- Assist in researching and advising on intellectual property (in particular, copyright), real property, employment laws and other laws relevant to the business.
- Assist with the renewal of company insurance policies
- Assist with developing company and employee policies
- Maintain and further develop the existing global contract management systems
- Work closely with the finance team and other staff internationally and provide a high level of service to the group
- Administrative work with respect to the legal team
- Ad hoc legal duties as required
Qualifications and requirements
- Minimum 2.1 law degree classification (or a 2.1 non-law degree and the GDL), LPC completion desirable.
- Proven experience in a legal role either within a law firm, or within a commercial in-house environment
- Proven experience in negotiating and drafting client and supplier contracts
- Excellent legal research skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, confident and an ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
- Ability to prioritise work, multi task and work to tight deadlines
- Team player but comfortable working on own initiative
- IT literate with competence of MS Word and strong working knowledge of Excel
- Experience or qualifications in foreign legal jurisdictions (US or Germany in particular) beneficial but not essential
- Other spoken languages beneficial but not essential
- Proven experience of the public relations, media or technology sectors would be advantageous but not essential
