Law Jobs

Commercial and contracts officers

About us

The Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC) is the UK's provider of large scale inter-disciplinary research infrastructures and their supporting technologies, which enable UK researchers to investigate the world we live in and understand the building blocks of the Universe.

About the role

Two commercial and contracts officer roles have arisen in the legal and commercial department (within the corporate services division) of STFC. The successful candidates will be new members of the team, required to deal with an expanding workload and partially reorganised work streams from the remainder of the team. The legal & commercial department works closely with managers across the organization to ensure that STFC’s contractual obligations are appropriately considered and understood. You will be advising on, drafting, analysing, negotiating and explaining non-procurement contracts, including standard terms and conditions, non-disclosure agreements, studentships, memoranda of understanding, leases, collaborations and a range of other contractual arrangements with both academic and non-academic parties.

About you

To join us you will need experience of record keeping and analysing/reporting on commercial terms and conditions of a contract, along with an understanding of contracting principles. A degree in business, law or a similar commercial discipline, or relevant experience is essential.

In return for your talents, we offer a competitive benefits package including 30 days annual leave, an excellent index linked pension scheme and learning and development opportunities.
