Paralegal – high street solicitor’s practice, Northwich, Cheshire.

Salary - £12,000 (rising to £14,000 upon satisfactory completion of six-month probationary period) - 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9.00-5.00

Basic job description
To assist our personal injury team in handling personal injury claims which fall under the ambit of the MOJ portal process. This includes taking client instruction, assessing medical evidence and managing claims through to conclusion. The successful candidate, after appropriate training, will be responsible for running their own portfolio of clients (under the supervision of the practice principal).

General attributes
The successful applicant will have a bright & personable attitude and the ability to talk to clients professionally. A willingness to work hard with strong initiative is also essential. Good English skills are preferable. A law degree is also essential. Microsoft Word & Excel proficiency is important. No job experience is required – full training will be provided for the successful applicant.

For a successful applicant who has at least 12 months experience in a personal injury department and with the ability to run a portfolio of clients immediately, a starting salary will be £14,000.00 plus bonuses.

Basic job description
The role includes assisting one of associate solicitor teams with personal injury claims which fall under the ambit of the fast track system. Some aspects of the role include obtaining and assessing medical evidence, obtaining claims information and accident descriptions, assisting with court documentation and witness statements, claims diary management and assisting in seeing claims through to conclusion.

The successful applicant will be looking to start a period of recognised training subject to the successful completion of a probationary period as a paralegal of a minimum of nine months (subject to business needs). The successful applicant must be able to meet the outcomes of the SRA Suitability Test 2011.
