Corporate and private client firm Withy King, headquartered in Bath, is set to merge with London firm Royds.

The merger will be completed on 1 September, which Swindon Business News reports will create a £33 million turnover business with some 450 employees. Withy King is currently ranked 45th in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For and is an ambitious firm which has expanded its business through mergers with Lemon & Co and Whetter Duckworth Fowler in recent years. Meanwhile, Royds is known for its successful private client, family, employment, retail property, commercial and banking practices. The name of the newly merged firm will be announced at a later date.

Graham Street, Withy King’s managing partner, said: “This is an exciting opportunity which will bring significant benefits for both firms and their clients. Withy King and Royds have complementary strengths and share a similar vision and culture, making them a really good fit. We believe the merger will provide sustainable growth opportunities for our commercial and private client practices in current markets as well as in new and larger markets, both in the UK and internationally. For our clients, it means more choice and access to an even wider range of services and legal expertise.”
