Trainee solicitors to be awarded travel bursaries at Walker Morris

Leeds-based firm Walker Morris has announced it will award travel bursaries of £1,000 to three of its future trainees as part of a wider support programme.

As part of its strategy to recruit and retain motivated and sociable graduates, the firm will offer the financial support to trainees who demonstrate a desire to undertake charitable work or develop commercial skills in the United Kingdom or internationally. It joins a number of law firms who offer their future trainees travel bursaries - among other benefits - for use between application and the training contract.

Nick Cannon, recruitment partner at the firm, commented: "We are keen to support our trainees who are looking to challenge themselves and who are keen to develop a new perspective on the world… Undertaking such a personal adventure provides them with a greater understanding of the wider world, which not only makes them a well-rounded individual, but also enhances their ability to deal with our wide ranging client base."
