- Grant Thornton is being sued by the Manchester Building Society for alleged negligence in relation to its audit of the society’s accounts from 2006 until 2013.
- The annual inflation basket is always a revealing glimpse into what the nation is spending its money on, with each year some items in favour while others languish (or are ejected); this year, Spotify, craft beer and e-cigarettes are in, while yoghurt drinks and satnavs are out.
- The budget on Wednesday proved to be good news for the North Sea oil and gas industry, in the form of tax cuts, less so for some in the City – the banks are "a bit cross", says the BBC’s Kamal Ahmed.
