Dundas & Wilson partners leave in advance of CMS merger

updated on 14 January 2014

The proposed merger between Dundas & Wilson and CMS Cameron McKenna has caused a degree of upheaval at the Scottish firm, with a handful of key partners leaving in advance of the change.

Reported in both The Lawyer and Legal Week, the merger is due to take place on 1 May 2014 and will create a firm with global turnover of around €900 million. However, a group of six senior partners from Dundas, including former chairman David Hardie, will not be joining the merged firm. A spokesperson for the firm says: "Both CMS and Dundas & Wilson have been pleased with the enthusiastic response from clients, partners and employees to our proposed merger. Over the next few months our focus will be on combining the strengths of CMS and Dundas & Wilson to ensure our clients receive the very best of our expertise and innovation from 1 May 2014."
