Prestigious appointment for NLS professor

A Nottingham Law School (NLS), Nottingham Trent University professor has been appointed to the Administrative Justice and Tribunals Council by lord chancellor and secretary of state, Jack Straw. The council is an independent advisory body with the main function of keeping the administrative justice system under review and considering ways to make it more accessible, fair and efficient.

As one of five appointees, Mary Seneviratne will serve a four-year term beginning from 1 February 2010. After joining NLS in 1998 as a research professor, she has been head of department, associate dean and director of research.
