The night was open to students at King's College London (KCL), the London School of Economics (LSE), University College London (UCL) and all Law Society members. In total, 60 students participated but UCL was the overall victor. Amusing answers cropped up in the picture round: Lord Denning was mis-identified as JRR Tolkien and Diana Ross was thought to be Twiggy.
Julie Williams, the firm's graduate recruitment manager, said: "We wanted to give students an opportunity to get to meet our current trainees and get to know the firm. We felt a quiz night would be the liveliest way to do that."
She added: "The quiz will be an annual event so KCL and LSE will have the opportunity to set the record straight next year."
