Now in their fourth year, the LawCareers.Net Training & Recruitment Awards - affectionately known as the TARAs - are a trusted resource for prospective trainees and a sought-after accolade for law firms.

The awards are based on the views of nearly 3,000 trainees and newly qualified solicitors. Winning or being nominated in a category is therefore a significant endorsement of a firm's recruitment or training practices.

LawCareers.Net publisher Matthew Broadbent commented: "The results across the board indicate that most young lawyers are having a positive career experience. There were tight races in many categories. Clearly, the best firms are commendably committed to the development and welfare of their future leaders."

This year also saw the introduction of the Commendation for Diversity, in association with Arberry Pink, which was presented to Herbert Smith LLP. Chris Hollins from Arberry Pink commented: "I am heartened by the level of diversity awareness displayed by many law firms and the innovation and creativity they are displaying in recognising that people's differences make their organisations stronger."
