Retention rates looking good

updated on 24 July 2012

Three firms have announced that they are retaining 100% of their September 2012 qualifiers. Debevoise & Plimpton, Farrers and Jones Day have all been keen to boast that they are holding on to all their trainees - Debevoise with six, Farrers with 10 and Jones Day with 11.

RollOnFriday has also reported on other firms that have published healthy retention rates, all in the 80% to 90% bracket. They include Shearman & Sterling, Slaughter and May, Ashurst, SNR Denton and White & Case.

In other good news, Norton Rose's first-year trainees are looking at a pay rise, which will take them to £38,000 a year, with similar rises for second years and NQs. They will also have the chance to go on secondment in either Sydney or Perth.
