Hummingbird I have recently started my training contract specialising in family law, after over two years of working as a paralegal in the area of family law/legal aid. With uncertainty rife and huge changes taking place left, right and centre within both family law and legal aid, I will aim to provide an honest insight into work on the other side of the fence.

The dawn of fixed fees 24/05/2011
With the introduction of the new fixed fee scheme this month, keeping our work financially viable looks set to be even more difficult. After having some training, I'm feeling fairly confident that I've got my head around how to jump through the latest set of hoops set by the LSC, but I'm also pretty sure that perfecting it may take a lot of practice!
